Moooove over Facebook, there's a new social media trend in town.
More than 400 dairy farmers have logged onto the internet at the same time, to participate in an online forum dedicated to dairy cow feed discussion.
For one hour, dairy farmers had the opportunity to discuss the issues with animal nutritionists like Dr David Beever from the UK, Australian experts Dr Steve Little, Dr Bill Wales and Ian Lean and Dr Fernando Bargo, Associate Professor in Dairy Science at the University of Buenos.
Dairy Australia Managing Director Mike Ginnivan says the web gives farmers an easy way to communicate with each other.
"This is another step in using technology to help us disseminate useful information to not only farmers, but those who work with them including advisers, service providers and local animal nutritionists," he says in a statement.
